If you are a complete beginner, or if you have not sailed in several years and would like an in-depth review, or if you just want to contribute as a crew member, our ASA 101, Keelboat 1 course is for you. This course will enable you to obtain the theory and practical skills needed to sail confidently and work effectively as part of a sailing crew.
This course is two full days (14 to 16 hours) on the water.

None, this is an introductory learn-to-sail course

- Aids to navigation
- Proper use of deck hardware & safety equipment
- Sail deployment and proper stowing
- Man overboard (MOB) recovery
- VHF communications
- Anchoring and mooring
- Coping with emergencies
- Classes are offered weekends and weekdays.
- Keelboat 1 (ASA 101) is taught on Sound Advice, our 35' O'Day.
- Class size is limited to four students.
- Effective July 15, 2024, our ASA 101 courses are private classes. Tuition is $2800 for up to 4 students.
- Reservations are required.
- Full tuition payment is due at the beginning of the first class, payable by check or cash.
- This course can be held on your own boat, with a discounted tuition. Call for details.
